Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist:

Elk Grove Pet Clinic is a progressive 25-year-old small animal general practice in the Northwestern suburbs of Chicago who is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic part-time experienced veterinary receptionist to join our wonderful team. Veterinary reception experience with excellent customer service and communication skills are required. We are looking for a welcoming, confident, bright, hardworking, self-motivated, and dedicated team player. We need a reliable individual who is able to prioritize and multi-task with little direction.

We have a team led by Dr. Gregory S. Stram, and followed by 1 certified veterinary technician, 2 veterinary technicians, 2 veterinary assistant, 4 receptionists, 4 kennel assistants, and some seasonal staff. We have a reputation for excellent patient care with dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled support staff.

Shifts:

Every Monday 8am~12:30pm AND 1:45pm~6:30pm

Every Tuesday 8am~12:30pm

Every Friday 8am~12:30pm AND 1:45pm~6:30pm

Saturdays 8:15am~1:30pm (3/month average)

Willingness to pick up occasional Wednesday 1:45~8:30pm and/or Tuesday 1:45pm~6:30pm shifts when needed is ideal.

 

Part-Time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist:

Elk Grove Pet Clinic is a progressive 25-year-old small animal general practice in the Northwestern suburbs of Chicago who is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic part-time experienced veterinary technician to join our wonderful team. 2 years+ veterinary assistant experience required.  This is a float position where you will be helping out the receptionists as needed.  We are looking for a welcoming, confident, bright, hardworking, self-motivated, and dedicated team player. We need a reliable individual who is able to prioritize and multi-task with little direction. Our assistants are an invaluable part of our team and utilized to the fullest. This is a fantastic environment for learning and growing professionally.

We have a team led by Dr. Gregory S. Stram, and followed by 1 certified veterinary technician, 2 veterinary technicians, 2 veterinary assistants,4 receptionists, 4 kennel assistants, and some seasonal staff. Modern computerized facility includes: DR Digital Radiography with Idexx, Companion Therapy Class IV Laser, ultrasound, surgical suite & electrocautery, two dentistry tables, full lab with IDEXX VetLab (ProCyte Dx hematology analyzer, Cataylst Dx chemistry analyzer, SNAPshot Dx,  & Sediview Dx), two CONTEC Veterinary Monitors (can monitor such parameters as mainstream capnography, ECG & esophageal stethoscope for ECG, RESP, NIBP, SpO2 and dual- channel TEMP), scil V5 Vet View Monitor  (can monitor such parameters as Oridion Microstream Capnography, ECG & esphageal stethoscope for ECG, RESP, NIBP, SpO2 and dual- channel TEMP, esophageal stethoscope ), two scil V1 Vet View vitals monitors, manual Doppler BP, Tonopen, STYKER T/PUMP Water Blanket Unit with (3) different size blankets,  (2) Bair Huggers, and IV fluid pumps.

Part –Time Veterinary Kennel Assistant:

Less than 15 hours per week. Great after school & weekend position for animal lovers. THINKING ABOUT GETTING INTO THE ANIMAL PROFESSION??? Well, come get your start here!

Required for this position: Experience walking large dogs & dogs that may pull on leash walks is ideal.  The ability to follow oral and written directions.  The ability to learn how to recognize certain behaviors in animals.  The ability to learn and understand basic medical terminology.  The ability to administer basic oral and topical medications to dogs and cats.  The ability to ask or admit when a task is unclear. The means to do off hours weekend and holiday dog walks, as well as care for all the other animals in the hospital during that time.  Occasional on-call help may be needed weekday mornings if you want more hours.

Task Descriptions: As a kennel assistant, your job entails several important aspects of our hospital. This position mainly involves routine animal care and treatment as well as hospital cleanliness. It is most important that you help ensure that all the animals in our hospital feel safe and comfortable.

  • Assist any staff member in any way when asked to do so.
  • Perform all written and oral “Daily, Weekday, and Saturday” kennel tasks.
  • Come in during closed hours to work on the weekends and holidays to care for all of the animals in the hospital. Help may also be needed on Wednesday mornings as well.
